The history of Maritime Bunkering

Maritime Bunkering is part of the J.R. Rix & Sons Group, a 6th generation family owned business. The roots date back to 1873 when founder Robert Rix established a ship building business.

The maritime tradition continues to this day; Rix Shipping owning and operating a fleet of ships including tankers, barges and crew transfer vessels. In addition warehousing in the port of Hull and Montrose plus ships agency services. 

Today the Rix Group is involved in a wide range of activities Rix Petroleum being the largest subsidiary, the roots of which date back to 1927 importing tractor vaporising oil from Russia to local garages.
